Lao Tsu, also called Laozi, lived apart from ordinary life. Lao tsu sought long life through careful eating, and he compiled a long list of healthful herbs with details of what the medication should be expected to ease discomfort. His writing were compiled into two books, later edited into one by the Emperor Jinn ( BCE 156-141)during the Han Dynasty.
